The end-of-the-year stats are in, and Lycos, America Online and Yahoo! have released their lists of the most searched-for celebs.
The Hollywood Reporter says this year’s top tier includes Britney Spears, Eminem, Anna Kournikova, David Beckham and Paris Hilton–Yahoo! searches for the “The Simple Life” celebutante were up 212,000 percent in 2003.
AOL said celebrity scandals (Rush Limbaugh, Kobe Bryant, Michael Jackson) generated a lot of buzz. So did reality TV: Lycos reported that the top searched-for TV shows were “American Idol,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer,” “The Simpsons” and “Survivor.” Who knows what celeb news/scandals are in store for 2004?
