Dr. Leon A. Bosch, age 96, of Holland, MI, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003 in the Inn at Freedom Village. Leon was a member of the Third Reformed Church. He served as a Trustee of Hope College for 20 years and was a member of the Century Club. He was a graduate of Hope College, attended the University of Illinois for his Masters Degree, and received his Ph.D. from Northwestern University. He was Professor of Graduate School of Management at Northwestern for 45 years of which 10 years were as an Associate Dean. He served on the governing board for the Big 10 Athletic Conference. He was involved as staff member of the Executive Management Program in Venezuela and Switzerland. In 1955 he received the Joint Appointment of the State Department and the French Universities System to appraise the potential for management education in French University. He was a Government O.P.A. head of the rationing for the meat and dairy products during WW II. He was a member of HASP, Hope Academy of Senior Professionals. He was listed in the Who’s Who for 22 years. After retiring, he moved to Leisure World in Laguna Hills, CA, where he was involved in Community Management. He was a member of the Governing Board for 16 years of which he served as President for two terms. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Lee Bosch in 1997; a sister and brother-in-law, Pauline and Martin Witteveen. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Virginia Bosch of Holland. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Friday, Dec. 26, 2003 at Third Reformed Church, 111 W. 13th St., Holland, with Revs. Steven Stam and William Unzicker officiating. Burial will be in Grandville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be given to Leon A. Bosch Scholarship at Hope College or Northwestern Graduate School of Management in Evanston, IL. Arrangements are by the Notier Ver Lee Langeland Funeral Chapel, 315 E. 16th St., Holland, MI 49423.
