Ever want to appear the size of a hobbit?

A museum exhibit about “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy will use techniques from the films to transform visitors into hobbit dimensions in their own photos.

The exhibit will run from Aug.1 to Oct. 24, 2004, at Boston’s Museum of Science and features an interactive scaling activity using trick photography, forced perspectives and scaled props to recreate filmmaking magic.

“‘The Lord of the Rings’ film trilogy is a terrific exhibit topic to get people of all ages excited and interested to learn about technology and engineering,” says Ioannis Miaoulis, the Museum’s president and director.

The exhibition will finish its run first in the London Science Museum and stop in Singapore before moving on to Boston next year.
