Ruben Studdard loves food about as much as he loves music. So the “Soulful” singer is going to open a soul food restaurant.
The American Idol plans to open a late-night restaurant serving “down home” cooking in his hometown of Birmingham, Ala., to cater to clubgoers with the munchies. But Studdard’s place won’t be like your average Denny’s.
“It’s gonna be classy, it’s not gonna be just a thrown-together restaurant,” he told mtv.com. “We’re gonna have the Southern favorites, but our presentation of it is gonna be better.”
The eatery–which Studdard wanted to call “Fat Boys” until he saw a Florida restaurant called that–has yet to be named.
