A couple of months ago, I discovered that something good can come out of something bad. I found this out when my neighborhood fell victim to a crime wave.
Three things happened. A woman was robbed on the street, a car window was deliberately shattered and, shortly after that, a teenager started to deal drugs. The neighborhood felt like a dangerous place to be.
Then one of my neighbors decided to start a neighborhood watch program. Because of the increased police protection, the crime gradually came to a halt. The neighborhood was now going back to what it used to be, a safe, happy and peaceful place.
