Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Something great happened to me this summer. The day before my ice-skating competition, I practiced toe-loops, change foot spins and keeping my arms straight for three hours. I was so ready for the competition. When I got home the night before, I went into my room and stared at my other trophies. Third, fourth and fifth place, but no first or second. My mom told me that night that if you believed in yourself, you had every chance to do better.

The next morning I got up early to take a shower and do my hair. After everybody was ready, we got in the car and started driving toward the rink. I was so nervous. We arrived at the rink not long after.

When I got inside, I could barely get through all the people. I went by the ice to tell my coach that I was there. She told me to go get my skates on. After I had them on, I did some stretches to loosen up. Not too long after, my coach told me it was almost my turn. I took off my jacket and gave it to my mom. Then I walked out to meet up with my coach at the edge of the ice. The solo before mine ended. I slowly stepped onto the ice and waited for my name to be called.

After my solo was finished, I ran to the scoreboard to see what place I got. I began to cry when I saw the board for the first time. I had gotten first place.
