American Airlines has dropped a $6 round-trip fuel surcharge increase announced last week after other carriers did not match it. The world’s largest airline previously said it would raise its fuel surcharge on one-way fares by $3, to $13, while the charge for round-trip fares would rise by $6, to $26.
