Ervin Uccetta, 80, of Franklin, NC, died Friday, Dec. 26, 2003, in a local hospital. Prior to moving to Franklin in 2001, he and his family lived in Medinah, IL for 33 years. A native of Pola, Italy, he was the son of the late Jakova and Eufemia Uccetta. He came to the United States with his wife and son in 1950 and was employed as an electrician with electrical contractors of the I.B.E.W. until his retirement in 1985. He attended St. Francis Catholic Church in Franklin. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Regina Faccioni Uccetta; two sons, Serge Uccetta and wife Constance of Inverness, IL and Roger Uccetta and wife Debra of Franklin, NC; one brother, Bruno Uccetta of Pola, Italy; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a number of nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass was held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, at St. Francis Catholic Church. Father Matthew Kauth will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society. Macon Funeral Home, Franklin, NC is in charge of the arrangements.
