Junior Kristi Cirone is “really happy” to be at Resurrection, but imagine if she had chosen another high school. On her 8th-grade basketball team at St. Juliana’s were Regina’s top scorer Lauren Schober and Loyola standout Mary Kate Casey. She visited all three but picked Resurrection, which was closer to her home. Cirone had a career-high 43 points in an OT win over Prospect in the Dundee-Crown tourney. “I wasn’t really worried about the points, I was just glad we won,” said Cirone. Now Cirone, 16, is weighing colleges. “I’ve been going to different schools– Marquette, Western Illinois, UIC, Valpo and I’ve seen Loyola [University] play,” she said. “I don’t think I want to go really far away, but I haven’t decided yet.”
