After raising the national threat level to orange, Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge said the risks are perhaps greater now than at any point since Sept. 11, 2001 (Page 1, Dec. 22). If Ridge is correct, then the U.S. military has spent the last two years killing thousands of the wrong people.

And it’s not because the U.S. military can’t shoot straight.

It’s because its commander in chief can’t think straight.

If it wasn’t obvious before, then it should be obvious now: The war with Iraq was the wrong war, at the wrong time, with the wrong enemy.
