I wasn’t sure at first what bothered me so much about the letter you saw fit to print front and center in the Dec. 22 Voice of the people section (“Annoying columnist reflects losing party,” by letter writer Christopher Zeifer).

It bothered me a lot more than any of the other right-leaning letters you have published. There is this paternalistic and arrogant feel to the letter that I always associate with the Republican Party.

He finds columnist Molly Ivins harmless. He sounds like someone dismissing an unruly child: “Oh isn’t that cute! They have opinions!”

I don’t think he realizes how many people are very angry at President Bush right now. These aren’t just knee-jerk reactions of a group of liberals. There are very real reasons to dislike Bush; too many, in fact, to list here.

I was surprised he didn’t tell us not to bother voting next November. I don’t know whom I will be voting for then, but it won’t be Bush.
