Constance Pitt, 52, of Neenah, Wisconsin, formerly of Kenilworth, Illinois, and her daughter, Leslie Cuprisin, 17, died unexpectedly Wednesday, December 24, 2003, as a result of an automobile accident near Fond du Lac, Wisconsin. Connie was born March 12, 1951, in Michigan City, Indiana. She was a special education teacher of autistic children at Edna Ferber Elementary School in Appleton, Wisconsin. She had previously taught in the Neenah Public School System and in Seoul, South Korea, and London, England. Earlier, she had taught children of military personnel at Fort Benning, near Columbus, Georgia. She was a graduate of Joseph Sears Elementary School, Kenilworth, Illinois; New Trier High School, Winnetka, Illinois; Marymount Junior College, Boca Raton, Florida; and Barry College, Miami Shores, Florida; and she received a master’s degree in special education from National-Louis University, Evanston, Illinois. Survivors include her son, Chip; her mother, Anastasia; two sisters, Diane Landi and Susan Gregor; and two brothers, George and Alexander. Services have been held in Wisconsin and Illinois. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie, Illinois. A memorial in Connie’s name, the Connie Pitt Permanent Endowment Fund, has been established by the Appleton Education Foundation, P.O. Box 563, Appleton, Wisconsin 54912, to provide grants to fund special education programs for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders.
