Today on my way to work I picked up the RedEye, and while I was browsing through I thought it would be interesting if some [more] light was shed on the sports programs around the city.
I think a majority of your readers live in the city and don’t know of all the options available to them. Recently the DePaul women’s basketball team played Loyola’s team and beat them, placing DePaul at No. 22 [in the nation]. This is a pretty big deal considering the city rivalry. It could be interesting to shed light on [this] and give credit to those teams working hard, especially Doug Bruno, the coach of the DePaul women’s team.
I am a cheerleader there and see the hard work and dedication that the athletes have. This is my senior year, so as well as seeing all the hard work, I have also seen the progression of our basketball teams into ones that are very competitive.
