Carol Marin’s “Outrage: A New Year’s resolution” (Commentary, Dec. 31) will help me start the new year just right. She is a gifted journalist who brings attention consistently to real and serious issues. All those who are outraged by so much that is happening around us give me hope that we will face and solve our problems.
As well, I am never disappointed by Quentin Young, whom Ms. Marin wrote about. How encouraging to read Dr. Young, at age 80, reminding us that at the beginning of a crisis, the critics are always dismissed.
Those who refuse to be outraged by all that is facing us as a society are the puzzling ones. Thank you, Ms. Marin and Dr. Young, and happy new year.
