Mack III, passed away Dec. 30, age 68, formerly of Hyde Park, husband of Mariateresa, nee Zanetti; father of Diane James, Sybil Gage and Giancarlo; brother of Joan Marie Mack Smith; uncle of Derek and Sherri Smith; grandfather of Jay Williams and Chelsea James; preceded in death by his parents, Mary, nee Pepp, and John Bennett Mack Jr. High school track star (440-yard dash); teacher/librarian; author of book, Nobody Promised Me; first chairman of black studies dept. of Chicago City College; IEA UniServ Director.
