The Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board has begun reviewing a proposal to build a 138-bed, full-service hospital in Bolingbrook.

Tammy Leonard, a spokeswoman for the Illinois Department of Health, said the planning board has deemed that the application for the hospital is complete.

Adventist Health System is seeking to build the $130 million facility on 40 acres next to its Bolingbrook Medical Center, 420 Medical Center Drive.

When the application was completed Dec. 26, the planning board started a 120-day review of it and will issue a report, Leonard said. The board could consider the application during its April 21 meeting.

In addition, Leonard said, the public has until April to make comments on the proposal. Written comments should be sent to Jeffrey Mark, executive secretary, Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board, 525 W. Jefferson St., Springfield, IL 62671.

The hospital would include a Level II trauma center, 106 surgical beds and a 12-bed intensive-care unit. If approved, it could open in 2007.
