Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I couldn’t believe the outpouring of support for Dick Jauron in last week’s “Other Views” (Tribune, Jan. 3). Yes, Jauron is a great guy and his players loved him. Why wouldn’t they? He was known for running the easiest training camp in the league, a fact verified by his teams’ chronic slow starts. Did his teams ever look ready to play in September?

More important, he was the worst game-day coach I have ever seen, with terrible clock management and the philosophy of playing not to lose.
