Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...
I have truly appreciated the recent Tribune articles looking openly and honestly at the many sides of the Pete Rose issue.
I visit the Baseball Hall of Fame at least every other year. Growing up in Philadelphia, I loved watching Pete Rose play, first as a Cincinnati Reds player and later as a Philadelphia Phillie. He was a great player and gave so much to the game.
But I believe Lee Gordon and Rick Morrissey hit the nail on the head. He bet, cheated, lied and then agreed to a permanent ban from baseball. He deserves nothing more than to be ignored. He blew it. He should not be reinstated or be anywhere near the Hall of Fame.
