I find Marjorie Williams’ stereotyping of the worst qualities of doctors an insult, not only to Howard Dean but to reasonable public discourse.
One could also say that doctors are, at best, intelligent, problem solving, able to work under pressure knowing their actions have life-altering consequences and able to simplify complex issues. However, Dean is a unique human being, not some stereotypic “doctor.”
I implore the Tribune to select columns that further substantive debate.
