At least one good legacy from the dot-com era remains: Forget the navy blue suit and other remnants of the old business world.
The hot, growing industries want creative approaches and fresh thinking in their new hires, according to Linford Stiles, president and founder of the national executive search firm Stiles Associates.
Why?
“The system of employment has become consistently more democratic. The employer-employee relationship has been replaced by a more self-directed, team environment,” Stiles said.
The result is that a lot of middle management jobs are melting away and being replaced by positions that demand dynamic, flexible skill sets, he added.
