A man who lived on a golf course for 40 years was told to leave because some golfers said he scared them.

Kenny Bethel, 55, first showed up at the county-owned Palmetto Golf Course in 1963. He resold stray golf balls, used the club’s showers and toilets at night and slept in a sheltered area.

Bethel now gets chased away by the staff, and the restrooms are locked at night.

A Miami-Dade County spokeswoman said complaints about Bethel have increased from women golfers who said they were nervous about using bathrooms while he was nearby.
