Britney Spears is a joke (“Pop star Spears says `Oops!’ after wedding,” News, Jan. 5) Taking what should be a solemn commitment between two adults and turning it into a publicity stunt is just over the top. I don’t know what the laws are in the State of Nevada as far as grounds for annulment, but there ought to be a penalty for this type of disrespectful and mocking behavior. Speaking as someone who has been married for almost 25 years, I can assure Spears that marriage is not a laughing matter.
