Stanley Ryczewicz, age 86, of Briggsville, WI, died peacefully Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004 at his residence. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church in Briggsville with Father John Hedrick celebrating. Military rites will be provided by the Carl E. Grabman American Legion Post 329 of Briggsville. Cremation will follow the traditional services. Stanley was born Jan. 25, 1917 in LaSalle, IL, the son of Bruno and Mary Ryczewicz. In December of 1945 he married Norberta Malin. He started working for Federal Die Casting in Chicago in the 1930’s and a short time later enlisted in the U.S. Army and served overseas in the Pacific Theater, receiving five battle stars and was honorably discharged. He returned to Federal Die Casting, worked his way up the ranks and retired in 1978 as Vice President of Production. Following retirement he moved to the north shore of Mason Lake near Briggsville where he has lived since. Stanley loved gardening, fishing, hunting and Mason Lake. Stanley is survived by his wife, Norberta; sons, Michael of Oxford, WI and Stanley (Elin) of Barlett, IL; daughter, Barbara (Edward) Deuter of Alabama; brothers, Raymond of Los Angeles, CA; sisters, Mary Nowik of Chicago; and grandchildren, Ciera, Caitlain, Crystil, Charles, Stephanie and Matthew. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Adolph and Joseph. Visitation wil be held at St. Mary Catholic Church, Briggsville, on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. The Oxford Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Oxford, WI assisted the family with arrangements.
