Michael J. Varde, age 83, died Sunday, January 11, 2004 at his daughter’s home in Lockport. Late of Bolingbrook, loving husband of the late Helen S., nee Smalley; dear father of John (Rebecca) Varde, Thomas Varde, Susan (Thomas) Drake; beloved grandfather of Sara Drake, Katherine Varde and Matthew Drake; cherished great-grandfather of Tristan and Dylan Trudeau; son of the late John and Helen, nee Eberhardt, Varde; fond brother of Paul (Ernestine) Varde and the late Ralph Varde. U.S. Marine Corps veteren serving during WWII. Member St. John The Evangelist Episcopal Church, Member of St. John Needlepoint Guild, Palatine Lions Club, former Scout Master of Palatine Troop #9 BSA. Family will receive friends at St. John The Evangelist Episcopal Church, 11th and Washington St., Lockport on Saturday, January 17, 2004 from 10 a.m. until time of memorial Mass at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in the church columbarium.
