Mary L. Weitendorf, nee Corsini, age 84, suddenly, Sunday, Jan. 11, 2004, following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. A lifelong Joliet area resident. A graduate of the College of St. Francis and St. Francis Academy. A member of the Joliet Women’s Club, the Silver Cross Hospital Encore Shop, she was active in the Troy Schools PTA. Survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John H. Weitendorf Sr. of Joliet; three daughters, Susan Weitendorf of Glen Ellen, CA, Holly Weitendorf of Chicago and Sally (Randy) Pickell of Lake Bluff, IL; one son, John H. (Theresa) Weitendorf Jr. of Joliet; two grandchildren, Eric and J.P. Pickell. Preceded in death by one son, Thomas Weitendorf (1966); her parents, Flavian and Angela Corsini; three sisters, Clementa (John) Haldorson, Louise (Joe) Stillo and Irene (Louis) Moroni; four brothers, Frank (Lorraine) Corsini, Alfred (Florence) Corsini, Dominic Corsini and Francis in infancy. Mary L. Weitendorf will lie in state on Friday, Jan. 16, 2004 from 11:30 a.m. until time of Services at 12 noon at St. Edward’s Episcopal Church, 206 N. Midland Ave., Joliet, Rev. Katheryn L. White officiating. Interment Hills of Rest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to Alzheimer’s Research of Jacksonville, FL c/o the Mayo Clinic, 200 First Ave. S.W., Rochester, MN 55905 would be appreciated.
