Rosie Uluocha, a senior goalie for the Lake Forest Academy girls hockey team, was born in Nigeria, raised in Vienna and now resides in Des Plaines. Naturally, she wants to major in international business in college. Uluocha switched from forward to goalie last year. “It was a difficult [transition] because I didn’t know all that goalies had to do,” the team captain said. The Caxys face Latin School on Saturday, whom Uluocha shut out earlier this season. “There aren’t that many black hockey players, let alone black female players. So, it could be an intimidating situation to some. But it’s really no big deal to me,” Uluocha said. “The only real pressure I feel is from not having perfect goaltending skills.”
