All of the readers who wrote in regarding the passing lane law call it just that, a “passing” lane, so I am confused at the concern.
Should they not understand the concept of how it works, they should go to Europe and try driving. Speed limits are posted, and if you are simply traveling at that speed in the passing lane, you will learn very quickly from cars coming up behind you that it is not a smart thing to do and you will not last on the road.
In the end you get where you are going faster as you do not have three abreast cruising at the same speed.
