– The League of Illinois Bicyclists is again sponsoring the National Bicycle Month License Plate Program in Illinois. Motorists can display these plates on their cars in place of their regular license plates in April and May. The plates, which cost $25, are authorized by the secretary of state’s office. – General Motors and Duke University have agreed on a multiyear teaching and research project to develop fuel-cell technology by 2010. Duke’s Fuqua School of Business will lead the project with participation from the Pratt School of Engineering and the Terry Sanford Institute of Public Policy. GM has given Duke an initial donation of about $500,000 for the project.

– Public tours of Ford Motor Co.’s Rouge assembly plant will resume May 1. Times and prices of the tours have not been determined, spokesman Andrew Johnson says. Ford has spent $2 billion to refurbish the 600-acre site in Detroit.
