Fred Gabiner, age 77, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, beloved son of the late Jack and Flora, nee Kornblith, Gabiner; dear brother of Seymour (Edith) Gabiner; cherished uncle of Janice (Jeffrey) Smith, Marla (Charles) Alexander, Layne (Carol) Gabiner and Jared (Karen) Gabiner; loving great-uncle to Suzanne Smith, Laura (Ian) Cohen, Jessica and Adam Alexander; proud great-great-uncle to Evan Cohen. Retired from Bankers Life and Casualty Insurance Company. Fred was a quiet, kind, gentle man, very devoted to his mother and loved his family dearly. He will be sorely missed by his many friends and family. Graveside services Wednesday 1 p.m. at Ticktin Cemetery, Gate #58 (Jewish Waldheim), Des Plaines Avenue, Forest Park.
