Space travel not only feeds our human need of exploration but provides valuable breakthroughs and inventions that change our everyday life. Ever use Velcro on a shoe or Teflon on a pan? They are both on Earth because of space. There are numerous breakthroughs in ceramics, medical science and genetics that are all because of the space program.
