Lloyd J. Linde, age 73, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep Monday morning. Beloved husband of Marianne, nee Fischer; loving father of Michael Linde, Anamarie (Jim) Sanfilippo and Marianne Gaedcke; grandpa of Grace, Terra, Jaclyn, Katrina and James; brother of Douglas (Eileen) Linde and the late Jimmy (Pearl) Linde. He was a talented athlete at Thornton High School and pitched in the Minor Leagues. Lloyd graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He spent 10 years in the U.S. Army with Distinguished Service in the Korean War and as a Captain. Lloyd worked in Process Engineering at the Ford Motor Company Chicago Assembly Plant for over 40 years. He retired from Ford as a Senior Engineer in November, 2001. As the founder of Linde Construction, he built homes, townhomes and apartments in the South suburbs. Funeral Saturday, 9:45 a.m., from Drumm Funeral Home, 1200 E. 162nd St. (1 blk W. of the Calumet X-Way on U.S. Hwy 6/159th St.), South Holland, to St. Jude the Apostle Church, for mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment St. Mary Cemetery.
