Divorce is tough, but in Hollywood it also can cost you a pretty penny. Just ask Harrison Ford. The actor has agreed to shell out $118 million to sever his nuptial ties with Melissa Mathison in what some say is a record-breaking settlement.
Here’s how the Ford-Mathison deal compares with other star break-ups:
– Diandra and Michael Douglas: $89 million
– Demi Moore and Bruce Willis: $90 million
– Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman: $109 million
– But Ford’s payout is nothing compared to Steven Spielberg’s 1989 split with Amy Irving–if you take inflation into account. The $100 million settlement would be worth $148 million today.
