David A. Deist, 44, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004 at Parkview Memorial Hospital in Fort Wayne. He was born in Chicago and was a graduate of Snider High School and Indiana University. He sustained a spinal cord injury in 1980. Survivors include his mother, Jane of Fort Wayne; brothers, Jim (Nancy) of Zionsville, IN and Rick (Kathy) of Warrenville, IL; sister, Peg (Jim) Gamboa of Naperville, IL; 10 nieces and nephews; preceded in death by his father, Fred. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 4916 Trier Rd., with calling one hour prior. Calling 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at D.O. McComb & Sons Maplewood Park Funeral Home, 4017 Maplecrest Rd., with Vigil Friday night. Burial in Catholic Cemetery. Memorials to Charis House of Fort Wayne Rescue Mission.
