Wendy Navratil misses the mark when she writes that fur’s hot again. Not for those who shop with conscience–and there are plenty of us, including my young, professional daughters who think wearing fur is a mark of ignorance.
And no wonder fur wearers are content to distance themselves from the animal suffering that is part of their attire, or they are ignorant of it.
But if you think animal-rights activists are sleeping, just ask the fur stores in New York City. They’ll tell you–much to their regret–that we are happy to tell consumers about the barbaric conditions of fur farms and the heinous cruelty of fur trapping.
