For many years, I’d spend a pleasant few minutes reading the Sunday comics. Sometimes my husband would wonder why I’d be laughing while sitting in the living room with the newspaper.
When I’d tell him about the comic strip, very often it was “Blondie,” he’d have a laugh also.
The comics were amusing, some were a little adventurous and they were all G-rated.
I was disappointed with the new format when the Tribune comics went through some changes some time ago.
Some of the new comics are cynical, some are suggestive and some have struck me as sometimes being somewhat anti-religious. After reading the comics recently, I realized that I no longer enjoy them; they are not the light diversion they had been. It may not seem like an important event to anyone but me, but, as of today, I am no longer interested in reading the Tribune comics. Thank you for the many years of entertainment. I’m sorry it came to an end.
