The first U.S. primary election will take place Tuesday.
WHAT: New Hampshire residents who are eligible to vote will cast their ballot for a presidential nominee.
WHO: There are about 1 million New Hampshire residents. In the last general elections in 2002, 66 percent of 690,159 registered voters cast their ballots. New Hampshire residents can register to vote on the day of the primary by providing proof of age, state residency and citizenship.
WHEN: Polling places will start opening at 5 a.m. CDT and will close at 6 or 7 p.m.
