Two of TV’s favorite casts took their final bows last week.

“Friends” wrapped up Friday night. And we mean “wrapped.” Taping of the final show was done in total secrecy before an invitation-only audience of about 200 people. Filming ended shortly before midnight with an extended curtain call for cast members. The mood during the final week was “deeply emotional, very sad,” said Peter Roth, president of Warner Bros. Television.

Meanwhile, “Sex and the City” bid adieu in Paris last week. The security was every bit as tight, and the episode was shot with four different endings to keep fans guessing.

“Nobody knows. None of the actors, the crew, the extras,” star Kim Cattrall said during an interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airing Monday. “Nobody knows how it’s going to end, so I couldn’t tell you even if you tortured me.”

And the cast is every bit as weepy: “You know, we’re trying to kind of hold ourselves together, but it’s really hard,” Kristin Davis told TV critics. “It’s like family, and it’s very intense, and I don’t know how I’m going to get through the end, really.”

The “Friends” finale airs May 6. HBO hasn’t set a date for the “Sex and the City” finale, but the series has four episodes left.

Outside Sunday’s Golden Globes ceremony, Sarah Jessica Parker said she had seven more days of filming in the States before the show was completed.
