Samuel Katz, 80, known as “Sarge”, retired U.S. Army after 20 years, Veteran of WWII and Korea, recipient of the Bronze Star with Oak Leaf Cluster, Silver Star, and three Purple Hearts. Retired U.S.P.S. after 22 years. Dearly beloved husband of Miriam, nee Meyers for more than 51 years; devoted father of Allen Martin (Irma) Katz and Shiela Katz; loving grandfather of Christopher and Sarah Katz. Funeral services with military honors Wednesday 9:30 a.m. at The Piser Chapel, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church Street), Skokie. Interment Ft. Sheridan Army Cemetery, Highland Park, IL.
