Your editorial about Wilmette’s gun ban clearly illustrates your anti-2nd Amendment bias while enjoying the protection of the 1st Amendment. You claim that the Brady law and the assault weapons ban have reduced crime but fail to make the correlation that at the same time crime has been reduced in much of the nation, much of the nation has passed laws allowing concealed carry of firearms. You refuse to recognize that crime in Chicago is a result of social and economic issues and no amount of gun laws can change that.
How unfortunate to use the power of a free press to make the case for the restriction or elimination of another equally protected right.
