Vermilion

10 W. Hubbard St.

312-527-4060

“Simply amazing food, great service and a very trendy and hip ambience. … The Mysore lamb chops, ceviche and lobster were simply delicious.”

–Katy M.

“Every single item we ordered was so creative and delicious. While service was slow, I’m sure that’s because it was the first week they were open. Definitely the place for the ‘culinary cool.’ “

–Valerie S.

Orange on Harrison

75 W. Harrison St.

312-447-1000

“The food was delicious, the service top-notch, and this new location is not nearly as busy the Lakeview restaurant, at least for now. We didn’t even have to wait for a table.”

Tre Via

1575 N. Milwaukee Ave.

773-227-7990

“Finally, a great Italian restaurant in Bucktown/Wicker Park. We’ve been twice already. The atmosphere is warm with a cool bar. For an appetizer, try the prosciutto-wrapped scallops. The veal skirt steak is wonderful, and I highly recommend the risotto with scallops and shrimp.”

–Joe Q.

“The facade is a bit obnoxious, but between the food, the decor and the service, it’s completely loveable. The food was amazing, and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable.”

Salud

1471 N. Milwaukee Ave.

773-486-0686

“Salud has the best margaritas in town. The bartenders are cool, and the food is good. The margaritas aren’t cheap, but they’re strong and made fresh to order. If you love tequila, check it out.”

–Jeff L.

“This is a warm, upscale lounge sure to attract other tequila aficionados! The extensive tequila list is impressive, and the mojito was right on the mark! My girlfriends and I shared the chips and salsa (yum!), and the empanadas are a must-try!”

Park Grill

11 N. Michigan Ave.

312-521-7275

“The food here is exceptional–the appetizers are great, as are the salads and entrees. The ambience is terrific–upscale but not pretentious. On each of my visits, we were given great seats: one time by the window overlooking the ice skating rink, another time by the fireplace and the third time in a cozy booth. Parking for this place is incredibly convenient if you use the Grant Park North garage, which keeps you from ever having to go outside.”

–T.K.

“This place has the potential to become a great after-work cocktails spot. Its sleek atmosphere and views surpass any other place I have been to in the Loop.”

–Meghan P.

SYN

1009 N. Rush St.

“Drinks are good but expensive, the cover charge is $20 (ouch!), but if that’s the going price to have fun, so be it. No other place in the area plays this funky music, so give it a try and enjoy!”
