Microsoft Corp. has postponed making changes it announced in October to its widely used Internet Explorer browser.
Microsoft said it has decided for now not to alter its software as a result of a patent infringement verdict in favor of Chicago’s Eolas Technologies Inc.
A federal jury in August ordered the software giant to pay $520 million in damages for infringing on Eolas’ technology.
On Jan. 14, a judge enjoined Microsoft from using Eolas’ technology in future versions of Internet Explorer, but the injunction was stayed pending an appeal.
