This South Sider and White Sox fan applauds Bob Vanderberg’s article about Jerry Reinsdorf and the White Sox. I am a Sox fan of the same vintage and I want the Sox to be at least competitive. I like pitching, defense and fundamentally sound baseball, not home-run hitters who are hot and cold and often prima donnas.
It’s too bad that when the legislature was considering the new Comiskey Park they didn’t decide not to fund it. Then maybe the White Sox would have moved to St. Petersburg. Comiskey Park could have been improved for an expansion team that, like the Florida Marlins, could have made it to the World Series.
