I agree 100 percent with Bob Vanderberg’s commentary on the White Sox (Tribune, Jan. 28). I’m 46 years old and have been a Sox fan my whole life. I was a weekend season ticket-holder. Then I went down to 10 games a year, and the last few years to three games a year.
My wife is a Cubs fan, but we both love Comiskey Park. The food, being able to walk around inside . . . even the upper deck.
But as Vanderberg said, the White Flag is already waving. They let a main part of the team go so they can play minor-leaguers instead. Look what Jerry Reinsdorf did to the Bulls. I think that’s the future of the Sox. I feel sorry for Ken Williams because all he can do is what Reinsdorf tells him to do. And they wonder why nobody shows up at the park?
This year I am planning to attend “0” games. We will spend our money at Wrigley.
