This is regarding “When the vacation gets tricky; Should Scalia and Cheney have gone duck hunting together?” by law professor Steven Lubet (Commentary, Jan. 27).

It’s perfectly legal for public officials to spend their free time killing wildlife for fun.

Much has been written, however, about the impropriety of Vice President Dick Cheney spending part of a week together with Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on a private duck-hunting trip.

But considering Cheney’s leading role in the decision to invade Iraq under questionable pretenses and Scalia’s participation in the black-robed coup of the 2000 presidential election, duck should not be on their menus. Instead, I highly recommend the crow.
