Michael “Mac” Kukla was born February 8, 1918 in Chicago. Mike Kukla passed away recently in Valley Center, CA. He will be missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Virginia; sons, John, David and Paul; daughter, Pam; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He is survived by his loving sister, Mary Uranowski; beloved nephew, Harry Kukla; and many special nieces and nephews. Proud veteran of the Army in WWII, Mike A.K.A. “Mac” was past Commander of American Legion Post #49. He volunteered at West Side Veterans Hospital, was officer of the St. Francis Heart Club AARP and helped many in need. A founding member of St. Jude the Apostle Church in South Holland, he was active in various organizations and served as usher for over 35 years. A memorial mass celebrating Michael’s life will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Church in South Holland at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 7, with post-services at Holy Cross Cemetery in Calumet City. No flowers please.
