Eleanor Kantz Dolan, 85, of Wadsworth, IL, died peacefully at her home on Jan. 29, 2004. She was born Feb. 11, 1918 in Indiana, the daughter of Dewey Mitchell and Velma Burke Kantz. Eleanor moved to Chicago in 1935 and attended Mundelein College and Northwestern University, where she was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. In 1942, Eleanor married Harry Parker Dolan of Chicago. A travel agent in Chicago for 15 years, Eleanor was also an active docent at The Art Institute of Chicago and The Chicago Architectural Society and did volunteer work at the Chicago Botanic Gardens. Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband and her daughter, Pamela Irene Dolan. She is survived by two children, Patricia Anne Dolan of Oracle, AZ and Michael Parker Dolan of Wadsworth, IL. She was the proud grandmother of three grandsons, Patrick Litt- ler, Benjamin Dolan and Jared Dolan; a special aunt to her nieces; and a treasured friend. Funeral Mass will be held Feb. 5, 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Lake Forest. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Palliative Care Center and Hospice of the North Shore, 2821 Central St., Evanston, IL 60201.
