The 9-11 Commission must be granted time to complete its investigation. Our mother, Judy Larocque, was on American Airlines Flight 11. The FBI and American Airlines repeatedly told us that the passengers in coach knew nothing about the hijacking; the FBI discounted rumors about Mace. During the commission’s public hearings, we have learned otherwise. Chemicals were released on the plane. People were moved to the back. The aircraft was erratic. Yet we did not learn this from those from whom we expected the truth. We have reason to question much of what we have been told about Sept. 11, 2001. If the commission is not given ample opportunity to explore all of the facts relating to the attacks, misrepresentations will be recorded as history, accountability will be negated and we will lose the opportunity to learn from and fix our past failures.
