I was thankful that my young son was in the bathtub during the Super Bowl halftime show, in which Justin Timberlake ended his musical number by tearing off part of Janet Jackson’s top to reveal her breast. It’s not the skin that bothers me as much as the choreography of sexual assault that was presented as normal and appropriate for family viewing to millions of adults, teens and children.
There was no choreography that indicated Jackson’s invitation or consent to this particular act. It was meant to shock, I know, but I was really disappointed.
