James M. “J.J.” Jaraczewski, 63, of Pleasant Prairie, WI, died on Feb. 1, 2004, in Cottonwood, AZ, with his beloved wife, Joyce, at his side. He was born on Feb. 8, 1940 in LaSalle, IL to the late Jacob and Rose, nee Pilarek, Jaraczewski. He was a Viet Nam War Veteran and a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, who was affiliated with the Midwestern Regional Medical Center in Zion, IL from 1967-2002. He was an active parishioner of Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church in Beach Park, IL, a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus, an avid gardener, a train enthusiast and loyal Notre Dame man. He is survived by his beloved wife of 40 years, Joyce; five loving children, James Jay (Faye) of Chicago, Joseph Edward (Jayne) of Cottonwood, AZ, John Dean (Wanda) of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Joy Suzanne and Jaclyn Rene, both of Chicago; 12 dear grandchildren, Joseph, Mikayla, Christian, Jacob, Ariana, James, Kiara, Betsy, Catherine, Josephine, Liliana and Janina; a beloved sister, Shirley (Robert) Bernard of LaSalle, IL; a fond brother, Eugene Jaraczewski of Spring Valley, IL; also many dear nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Feb. 9, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 15000 Wadsworth Rd., Wadsworth, IL, with Father David Mulvihill of Our Lady of Humility Catholic Church of Beach Park, IL officiating. Entombment will follow at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004 at Congdon Funeral Home, 3012 Sheridan Rd., Zion, IL, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again on Monday at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church at 10:15 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Our Lady of Humility Church Building Fund or the Assistance in Healthcare Foundation, 2520 Elisha Ave., Zion, IL 60099.
