After nearly a year of reading film scripts, Justin Timberlake has signed on for his big-screen acting debut.
The pop prince will co-star with Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey and LL Cool J in the crime drama “Edison,” set to begin filming March 8 in Vancouver. Timberlake will play a just-out-of-college newspaper reporter who stumbles upon a big story about corruption in city government while working for a free community weekly paper, writer/director David Burke told MTV.com.
Timberlake plans to shadow a real-life journalist to better understand his character, who lands in serious jeopardy by pursuing the story.
Timberlake is facing a bit of trouble in real life too. He’s now under fire from urban radio stations and listeners in New York, who believe he betrayed Janet Jackson and the urban music community by letting Jackson take most of the blame for the Super Bowl incident, according to Newsday.
